==============================Lermontov

Lermontov, the Russian poet and writer, was born on October 15, 1814. He is often compared to Shelley. His poems influenced many other Russian writers, including Boris Pasternak. Next to Pushkin, he is considered to be the greatest Russian poet. There are many similarities between him and Pushkin. They grew up in identical atmosphere, an intellectual atmosphere. Like Pushkin, he wrote poems with passion and like Pushkin, he also died in an unfortunate duel. Thus, two of the greatest poets of Russia died in a duel. It is believed both the duels were tsarist conspiracy. Lermontov died on July 27, 1841.

His novel, 'A Hero of Our Time', is considered to be autobiographical in many respects.

His important novel, 'A Hero of Our Time' in English translation is available in Project Gutenberg.
