On this day in 1650, Father of Modern Western Philosophy, Rene Descartes passed away at the age of 54.
He was not only a philosopher but also a mathematician, and a scientist.
It is said that he greatly influenced the thoughts of other great men like Isaac Newton, John Locke, Baruch Spinoza and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz.
