Charles Robert Darwin, FRS FRGS FLS FZS was born in this day,  Feb. 12 in 1809. He was a naturalist, geologist and biologist, best known for his contributions to the science of evolution.

 His proposition that all species of life have descended over time from common ancestors is now widely accepted, and considered a foundational concept in science.

Boris Leonidovich Pasternak, Russian poet, novelist, and literary translator, was born on Feb.10, 1890.

Composed in 1917, Pasternak's first book of poems, My Sister, Life, was published in Berlin in 1922 and soon became an important collection in the Russian language. 

His most famous book, Dr.ZHIVAGO, was later made into a successful movie.

ARTHUR MILLER, American playwright, passed away on Feb.10, 2005.


Arthur Asher Miller was also an essayist, and a controversial figure in the twentieth-century American theater. Among his most popular plays are All My Sons, Death of a Salesman, The Crucible and A View from the Bridge. He wrote several screenplays and was most noted for his work on The Misfits.

Charles John Huffam Dickens
(7 February 1812 – 9 June 1870)  

He created some of the world's best-known fictional characters and is regarded by many as the greatest novelist of the Victorian era.

His works enjoyed unprecedented popularity during his lifetime, and by the 20th century, critics and scholars had recognised him as a literary genius.
